Here are four spine surgery milestones Becker’s reported on in October:

1. Nexus Spine reached the 5,000th implantation of its interbody fusion technology Tranquil. The 5,000 implants were across Tranquil’s entire portfolio, including its ALIF, TLIF and DLIF devices.

2. Todd Lanman, MD, and Jason Cuellar, MD, PhD, completed the first three-level artificial disc replacement using the Prodisc C Vivo implant in the U.S.

3. Michael Gallizzi, MD, of Vail, Colo.-based The Steadman Clinic, has completed his 100th endoscopic spine surgery, five months after he performed his 100th robotic spine surgery.

4. Centinel Spine’s Prodisc C Vivo implant has been used in 100 cases nationwide, the devicemaker said Oct. 27.
