From Qatar to Ecuador, three U.S. orthopedic and spine surgeons have taken their practices international since March 21.
1. Hamid Abbasi, MD, PhD, planned a trip to Ecuador to teach the oblique lateral lumbar interbody fusion procedure. Earlier this year, he traveled to Muscat, Oman to teach OLLIF.
2. Roger Härtl, MD, performed the first spine case using 3D navigation in sub-Saharan Africa.
3. Todd Lanman, MD, performed a laminectomy at the View Hospital in Qatar, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai.
